This morning, Margot woke up with a cold, I woke up with pink eye and Oliver is still fighting reflux. But Grandma came to the rescue with the elder of the two kiddos (have I mentioned how much I love them living close by?) and Oliver had a good therapy day. I even got to see him open his hand and grasp a toy. It’s the little things. Here are this week’s other little things:
// Sure, she drew on a medical bill, but I am really loving my daughter’s latest art technique of just layering and grouping color. I think I need to give her some specific colors and a canvas and tell her to run with it!
// A fantastic DIY bench made from a coffee table and a rug comes from Little Green Notebook. It looks so good I can’t even believe it wasn’t a bench originally.
// Faith in humanity is restored in this wonderful collection of kindnesses. I need a little uplift more often than I used to. Dare you not to cry.
// A fantastically cool home in LA. Makes me miss my Cali.
// I took the “Which Designer is Your Spirit Animal?” quiz at Lonny. While I’m not sure how I’d feel being called anyone’s Spirit Animal, I think Nate is pretty dead on for my style description. (Or maybe it is I who is Nate’s Spirit Animal…? Ehhh?)
// Alan and I have been daydreaming about owning a Jetstream. Here’s what I want it to look like. Onboard, Alan? Oh, and we can never take the kids. Ever.
// The most simple piece of art, but so beautiful and profound.
// Kristin’s finish choices for her dream home are right up my alley. I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
// I love the Nester’s encouragement toward simplicity and self-acceptance. She always sets me straight.
// You can makeover vinyl with fabric and mod podge. I know of a few vinyl stools that could totally be attacked in the near future.
// The before and afters of the House Tweaking home are so amazing I just can’t even see the same house in them!
// I will go glamping with these ladies any day. Watch them rent a yurt and turn it to a turn-of-the-century British safari.
// Maybe instead of art, you paint that accent wall with a color block!
As the ancients say, may your weekend be free of stress and your eyes free of unnatural color.
